Before You Start

Everything you need to get your new Brummstadt head unit installed and running perfectly
Let's make sure you've got everything sorted before diving in
Make sure you've received everything - head unit, wiring harness, mounting brackets, and any extras you ordered. Take a photo of everything laid out - handy if you need our help later!
Basic stuff really - trim removal tools (or wrapped flathead screwdriver), Phillips head screwdriver, and about 1-2 hours of time. Cup of coffee optional but recommended!
Disconnect your negative battery terminal before starting. Yeah, we know it's a pain losing your radio presets, but it's better than frying something. Trust us on this one.
The main event - let's get this beauty installed
Pop off the trim carefully - it's usually held by clips that need a gentle but firm pull. Remove the screws holding your old unit (usually 4 Phillips head). Unplug all connectors from the back - they only go one way, so don't force anything.
This is the easy bit - everything's plug and play! Connect the main harness first (the big one), then USB cables, GPS antenna, and any cameras. Don't worry about leftover plugs from your old unit - our system has its own antennas and doesn't need all the factory connections.
Before screwing everything in, reconnect the battery and fire it up. Check that it powers on, test the reverse camera (if applicable), and make sure audio works. All good? Beautiful! Power down and disconnect the battery again.
Mount the unit with the provided brackets and screws. Tuck away excess cables (cable ties are your friend). Pop the trim back on - should click into place nicely. Reconnect battery, and you're done!
Hit a snag? No worries, these are the common ones
Check your main harness connection - push it in firmly until it clicks. Check the fuses in your vehicle's fuse box. Still nothing? Contact our support team - we'll sort it out quick smart.
First, check the obvious - volume isn't muted! Then check speaker connections are secure. If you have an amplifier, make sure the remote wire (usually blue) is connected. Some vehicles need the CAN-BUS settings adjusted in the factory settings menu.
Check the camera connection at both ends. Make sure the reverse trigger wire (usually purple or pink) is connected to your reverse light positive. In the settings, ensure the reverse camera is enabled. Test by putting the car in reverse with the handbrake on.
Make sure the GPS antenna is connected and positioned on the dash (not under metal). It needs a clear view of the sky. First GPS lock can take up to 5 minutes. If still no luck, try a GPS reset in the system settings.

These vehicles have a split factory head unit. You need to unplug both the screen AND the actual factory head unit below it. The actual head unit has the plug with speaker wires and 12V supply in the back. If you only connect the screen plug, the new unit won't power on! Both plugs must be connected to the adapter harness.
When plugging the factory harness into the adapter, you need to check if you have a 360Β° camera or standard camera. The wiring is different for each type. Check your vehicle spec or the original camera display to determine which you have.
Ensure the power antenna cable is connected to the ANT: Power cable (see user manual P31).
Then go to: CarSettings β System Settings β Factory Settings (Password 16176699) β Customized Settings β Radio antenna powered.
