    • After install, I noticed there are some plugs that don't seem to plug in anywhere. Did I get the wrong harness?
No, it is normal to have plugs left over from your old stereo if upgrading to a Brummstadt head unit. The unit comes with its own components and antennas (GPS, 4G, microphone), so some factory plugs are simply not needed anymore. No need to worry. All core functions will work as intended. If anything doesn’t perform as expected, you can always reach out to our customer support by clicking here Chat with Human Support or send an email to service@brummstadt.com.au.
    • Why isn't my factory camera working with your unit?
Our cables are made to work with factory cameras, but sometimes they just don't. Some cameras work straight out of the box. Others may need a 12V to 6V step-down module or a different plug. In any case, contact our support team. We will help you find the right solution.
    • What if something doesn't work during install?
This is our promise to you. We stand not only for quality in product but also quality in after-sales support. While there may be many alternatives out there, the true value shows when it comes to replacements or product questions. We are here to help until everything works exactly as it should.
    • Can I use the reverse camera while driving forward?
Yes, absolutely possible. If you only have the rear camera installed or are using your original factory camera, you can add a rocker switch to activate it while in drive. Just keep in mind that this is not plug and play and does require some basic wiring knowledge. A more convenient option is to use both our front and rear cameras, which are powered directly through the head unit. You can switch between them anytime, view both at once and even watch them while driving. This is especially useful for towing, caravans and off-road use.
    • Can I install a front camera and view it anytime, even while driving?
Yes, absolutely. You can view both front and rear anytime, whether parked or driving. For more advanced setups, you can install multiple additional cameras using rocker switches or modified RCA inputs and switch between them freely. This requires high installation skill and is not plug and play, while with our front and rear camera setup it is plug and play.
    • Do your units support steering wheel controls?
Yes, absolutely. Steering wheel buttons are supported. Sometimes they work immediately after installation. Sometimes you configure them in the steering wheel app on the head unit. The process is simple: press the icon on the screen, press the button on your steering wheel, and assign the function. You can map any function to any button. For vehicles with more advanced ECUs, we supply CANbus modules. In those cases, you just select your car model inside the CAN app and it will sync automatically. Should anything be unclear or if you need help with setup, feel free to Chat with Human Support or email us at service@brummstadt.com.au.

Across the automotive world, the Honda Jazz has established a reputation as a thoughtful blend of practicality, joyful efficiency, and remarkable versatility within a compact footprint. Known in some markets, notably North America and Japan, as the Honda Fit, this impactful hatchback has earned international respect for its adaptive interior, agile handling, and exceptional space utilization. To fully appreciate the distinctive nature of the second-generation Honda Jazz spanning from 2008 to 2013, it helps to review the model’s inception, notable evolution, and enduring appreciation around the globe.

Historical Evolution of the Honda Jazz/Fit:

    First Generation GD Series (2001–2008):
Launching in Japan as the Honda Fit in 2001, and subsequently across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia as the Honda Jazz, the original GD model set the benchmark in its segment. Its ingenious use of interior space through the patented folding "Magic Seat" arrangement drew praise for enhancing versatility—enabling seating and cargo configurations suited to varied lifestyles. Beyond clever packaging, the first-generation Jazz/Fit offered efficient fuel economy, responsive city-friendly driving dynamics, and a refined yet simple interior. Notably, it won recognition including the Japan Car of the Year Award in 2001-2002, testifying to its strong initial reception and broad appreciation.

    Second Generation GE Series (2008–2013):
The second generation Honda Jazz (GE model series) maintained the essence of its predecessor but brought meaningful enhancements in design, interior quality, refinement, and ride comfort. Geared towards urban practicality with innovative engineering, this version employed softer, rounded styling cues alongside subtle aerodynamic improvements, resulting in improved stability at higher speeds. Its adaptive cabin layout retained the celebrated Magic Seats, which quickly fold and transform the Jazz's capacious boot into class-leading storage—a standout feature especially valued among urban drivers and families alike.

This generation further earned appreciation for enhancing occupant protection—with North American "Fit" variants receiving high crash safety ratings—and providing improved drivetrain responsiveness and efficiency through continuously refined gasoline engine offerings, varying from a 1.2L to 1.5L depending on market specifications. Within Australia and Europe, particularly well-received variants utilized highly efficient i-VTEC engines capable of balancing spirited city maneuverability with commendable fuel economy. Enthusiastic reception for the GE-series Jazz hinged upon its smooth, easy-to-manage driving characteristics, superior city-friendly turning radius, and overall lived-with comfort.

    Third Generation GK/GH/GP Series (2013–2020):
From 2013 onwards, the third generation broadened the Jazz's global impact further, offering a more sophisticated outward appearance, updated interiors with advanced multimedia and infotainment amenities, revised engines suited to tightening emissions standards, and developments towards hybridization, prominently for the Japanese and select international markets. The GK-series Jazz continued the notable space utility legacy but elevated passenger comfort, safety technologies, and interior design substantially, solidifying its popularity among new and existing fans.

Complementing the Jazz's Ingenuity: Infotainment Integration by Brummstadt:

For models within the second-generation range (2008–2013), drivers seeking to modernize and better integrate smartphone connectivity have attractive solutions available. A notable example includes the sophisticated aftermarket head unit developed by Brummstadt, designed explicitly for seamless compatibility within the unique Honda Jazz cabin layout, working intuitively with embedded controls and maintaining aesthetics that respect the Jazz’s original interior integrity.

Key among its refined benefits include connection versatility—supporting both wired and wireless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers and passengers intuitive, safer access to smartphone applications directly from the unit's touchscreen interface. Popular navigation apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, and WAZE appear clear and enlarged, significantly improving ease of navigation during everyday drives and spontaneous trips alike. Imagine enjoying an evening outing with family or friends at a warm restaurant ambiance, the next destination—a friend's residence—already pre-set via a smartphone. Seamless wireless connectivity ensures that, upon entering the vehicle and starting the ignition, mapped directions instantly transition onto the screen of the Brummstadt infotainment unit, creating an uninterrupted, comfortable transition through urban streets to the next destination.

An additional available upgrade includes a high-definition 1080p front and rear camera system, capable of crisp live road feeds and providing recorded footage as evidence or insurance reassurance in unforeseen circumstances. This safety-conscious feature complements crowded city environments perfectly, greatly assisting parking and overall road awareness.

For passengers, longer drives become engaging moments of interaction. USB support on Brummstadt’s premium head unit allows the connection of gaming controllers, facilitating multiplayer on-screen entertainment. Such a feature transforms time spent traveling into memorable and interactive experiences—particularly ideal for family journeys or leisurely road trips.

Integration with modern voice control technologies further increases driving convenience. Sophisticated voice recognition embedded in the head unit interacts comfortably with Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant, enabling multi-tasking ease from within the vehicle. Drivers might effortlessly request navigation updates, call contacts hands-free, or even remotely interact with smart home elements—initiating commands such as, "Hey Siri, turn on the porch lights," several kilometers prior to arrival. Such connectivity thoughtfully adds meaningful comfort to everyday routines, enhancing convenience in realistic driving scenarios.

Benefits & Advantages of the Honda Jazz (2008–2013):

    - Ingenious "Magic Seats" configuration, providing unrivaled adaptability and cargo versatility in its segment, perfectly accommodating varied urban or adventurous transportation needs.
