Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this head unit
Connect the single RCA cable with the yellow plug (included in your package) to extend your Bluetooth signal. This cable doubles as both a camera input AND a Bluetooth/WiFi antenna extension. The two small blue wires attached are antenna boosters that significantly improve connection stability. This simple connection takes 30 seconds and resolves 90% of Bluetooth issues. Make sure it's firmly connected even if you're not using a rear camera.
Try these proven solutions:
1. Quick Fix: Settings → Apps → Z-Link → Disable → Enable → Open (repeat each use)
2. Check Cables: Use the data/charge USB cable (not charge-only)
3. Bluetooth Setting: Disconnect all other Bluetooth connections - CarPlay needs exclusive access
4. Factory Reset Z-Link: Find the pink 'RESET' app, restart, reconnect Bluetooth, then try Z-Link
5. Sound Issues: Switch audio source to 'AUX' or 'USB/AUX' in your vehicle menu
Most issues are resolved with step 1 or 3!
The processor differs between models: The 2/32GB has a 4-Core processor, while 4/64GB and 8/128GB models feature the powerful 8-Core Cortex-A55 processor. Combined with RAM differences: The 2/32GB model with its 4-Core processor and limited RAM may experience slowdowns with heavy multitasking. The 4/64GB with 8-Core provides smooth performance for most users - no lag, seamless app switching, and enough storage for maps and music. The 8/128GB with 8-Core offers maximum performance with its generous RAM allowing unlimited multitasking and massive storage for extensive media libraries. Think of RAM like your desk space - more RAM means you can have more apps open simultaneously without slowing down.
Absolutely normal! These head units are complete replacement systems with their own GPS antenna, microphone, and Bluetooth module. Your factory connectors for these features won't be needed anymore. The important connections are: main power harness, speaker outputs, and the yellow RCA cable (even if not using a camera - it extends Bluetooth range). Any leftover factory plugs can be safely tucked away. If you're unsure about any connection, our support team is here 7 days a week.
Z-Link updates are handled through system firmware updates. Go to Settings → System → System Update. If an update is available, download it to a USB drive (FAT32 format) and install. Important: Never download Z-Link APKs from unofficial sources - they won't work and may cause issues. If you're having compatibility issues with newer iOS versions, the disable/enable workaround (Settings → Apps → Z-Link) usually resolves them while waiting for official updates.
Consider your usage:
• 2/32GB (4-Core): Budget option - fine for basic use, but may lag with multiple apps due to 4-Core processor and limited RAM
• 4/64GB (8-Core): Sweet spot - smooth Android Auto/CarPlay, multitasking, and ample storage
• 8/128GB (8-Core): Premium choice - unlimited multitasking, massive storage, future-proof for years
Most customers choose 4/64GB for the perfect balance of performance and value. The extra RAM makes a huge difference in daily smoothness!
The yellow RCA cable's blue antenna wires also boost WiFi signal! Make sure this cable is connected. Additionally, try these tips: Position the blue antenna wires away from metal surfaces, check that your phone's hotspot is set to 2.4GHz (not 5GHz) for better range, and ensure the head unit's WiFi sleep policy is set to 'Never' in Settings → WiFi → Advanced. For best performance with wireless CarPlay, keep your phone within 1-2 meters of the head unit.
Go to Settings → Sound → Equalizer and adjust to your preference. For more volume, increase the 'Loudness' setting. The 4/64GB and 8/128GB models have superior audio chips that provide cleaner, louder sound. If you have an amplifier, use the RCA outputs for best quality. Also check Settings → Factory Settings (password usually 126) → Audio settings for additional gain controls. Remember: higher-spec models (4GB+) include premium audio components for noticeably better sound.

Historical Context of the Peugeot 307:
Peugeot 307 (2001-2005: Original Launch):
Introduced in 2001 as the successor of the highly popular Peugeot 306, the Peugeot 307 captured immediate attention thanks to its refined design and noticeably improved interior space. Standing taller, wider, and longer than its predecessor, the original 307 reflected Peugeot's innovative approach, positioning beyond traditional hatchback dimensions into a class-defining role dubbed a "high roof" family hatchback, earning accolades—and notably, the European Car of the Year award in 2002.
From its launch, consumers appreciated the model's exceptional cabin ergonomics, intuitive dashboard layout, impressive safety ratings, and practical features that catered both to family and individual lifestyles. Its thoughtfully spacious interior and generously proportioned cargo area made it admired particularly among drivers who valued functionality yet were unwilling to compromise on comfort and style.
The initial variants were powered by petrol engines ranging from economical 1.4 liters up to the dynamic and capable 2.0-liter units, while diesel options brought fuel-efficient and torque-rich HDi turbo-diesels, praised for economy without sacrificing enjoyable drivability.
Peugeot 307 (2005-2008 Facelift):
Responding to competitive market shifts in mid-2005, Peugeot revamped the existing 307 series with subtle yet purposeful enhancements. Redesigned front-end treatments mirrored contemporary Peugeot styling, with the popular elongated headlamp clusters and refreshed front grille. Interior refinements improved cabin comfort and material finishes, giving occupants a heightened ambience while simultaneously reducing road noise and vibrations to foster smoother journeys.
Technological provisions were significantly augmented during this mid-cycle refresh, introducing more comprehensive onboard electronics, enhanced infotainment systems, and increased safety and convenience features, including upgraded trip computers, more sophisticated climate control, and improved audio controls. Driver-assistance features such as cruise control became more prevalent, reinforcing its premium feel for drivers at the time.
Peugeot 307 CC, SW, and Estate Models:
Beyond the conventional hatchback and sedan forms, the Peugeot 307 enjoyed success in several thoughtfully designed body variants, including the acclaimed 307 CC (Coupé Cabriolet), which offered a retractable hardtop roof combining stylish design and flexible open-air driving experiences.
Similarly, practical and spacious estate models (SW) gained popularity among families for extensive passenger capacity and versatile cargo arrangements. The SW variant notably included creative features such as flexible seating configurations and a massive panoramic glass roof, establishing Peugeot as a champion of practical innovation in compact vehicles.
Global Presence and Variations:
Throughout global markets, the Peugeot 307 experienced adaptations corresponding to local tastes. Europe was home to diverse offerings, including broader diesel engine choices responding to consumer preference for frugality and torque. Meanwhile, specific regions saw production extending well beyond the initial lifecycle: Argentina built until 2011 and China continuing production until officially concluding in 2013. These markets particularly valued the 307 for its durability, ease of ownership, and parts availability, solidifying the model’s legacy globally.
Integrating Modern Infotainment Technology with an Aftermarket Solution:
While original Peugeot 307 models were advanced at their debut, technology steadily evolved, rendering early-2000s factory-original infotainment systems increasingly limited for today’s digital connectivity needs. Brummstadt provides a contemporary premium upgrade solution, meticulously tailored to Peugeot 307 models produced between 2002-2013, fitting neatly within the existing dashboard structure without compromising interior ergonomics or aesthetics.
This highly advanced aftermarket unit facilitates comprehensive compatibility with both Wired and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, extending the vehicle’s capabilities considerably. Its intuitive functionality integrates smoothly with popular mobile navigation applications, including Google Maps, WAZE, and Apple Maps, for safe, clearly visible navigation routes.
Consider a pleasant evening scenario: after a relaxing family dinner, the route to a friend's home, preset upon the mobile device during the meal, appears clearly marked via wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto onto the Brummstadt head unit. The seamless transition between stationary planning and mobile navigation enhances convenience, ensuring stress-free journeys even in unfamiliar destinations.
Further expanding utility are additional upgrades, including optional 1080p HD cameras capable of high-resolution front and rear recordings. These invaluable enhancements vastly improve overall situational awareness, aiding driver responsiveness and providing essential video records in unforeseen events or accidents.
Passenger entertainment expands as well: controllers connected via USB ports convert the head unit into an engaging hub for multiplayer gaming during rest breaks or leisurely waiting periods, transforming any stopovers into entertaining family moments.
Smart voice control integration makes interaction with the infotainment system safer and more intuitive. Beyond simplifying call handling, messages, navigation controls, and music playback, these voice assistants interface seamlessly with numerous smart home devices. Thus, occupants can remotely prepare a more welcoming home arrival, such as activating porch lighting simply by voice command during travel.
Advantages in Design, Performance, and the Driving Experience:
Throughout its years of service, the Peugeot 307 earned esteem for its approachable performance, balanced comfort, and appealing aesthetics. Its handling characteristics remained confident and predictable, suited both to spirited driving enjoyment and comfortable commuting. Notably robust and fuel-efficient diesel versions offered enviable driving economy and ample low-end torque, while petrol variants delivered smooth and responsive urban performance.
The vehicle’s spacious cabin, thoughtfully arranged controls, and inviting interior materials further defined driving quality, leaving occupants relaxed whether during brief city commutes or lengthier journeys. Proven build quality, dependable functionality, and agreeable driving dynamics endured as primary aspects of its popularity, providing Peugeot 307 owners tangible satisfaction and pride.
By thoughtfully incorporating contemporary infotainment upgrades, driving joy improves further through expanded convenience, connectivity, navigation accuracy, comprehensive entertainment, and safety awareness. Updating the Peugeot 307 in this manner not only preserves its inherent appeal but also ensures sustained driving relevance, making each journey equitably comfortable, technologically equipped, and memorable.
In essence, the Peugeot 307 symbolizes an approachable, versatile automotive legacy appreciated worldwide: a refined representation of compact practicality blended harmoniously with modern-day technology facilitated through thoughtful, advanced upgrades suited seamlessly to contemporary expectations.
