For vehicles with more advanced ECUs, we supply CANbus modules. In those cases, you just select your car model inside the CAN app and it will sync automatically. Installation requires complete removal of factory radio and fascia panel. Turn ignition to ACC position, manually power off factory radio using power button, wait 5 seconds before disconnection to prevent top display from entering continuous scan mode. Failure to follow this sequence on PX2/PX3 models will result in persistent radio station searching on upper display.

CANBUS integration requires connection of supplied CANBUS decoder box between vehicle's CANBUS network and head unit. Yellow/green CANBUS wires must connect to pins 6 and 14 of vehicle's OBD port respectively. Red power wire connects to constant 12V (yellow wire in factory harness), black ground wire to chassis ground point. Incorrect CANBUS wiring will disable steering controls, door notifications, and vehicle information display.

Factory reverse camera retention requires RCA adapter connection from original 6-pin camera connector to yellow RCA video input on head unit. Camera power (red wire) must maintain 12V reverse signal connection. For aftermarket cameras, connect to dedicated reverse camera RCA input (typically marked CAM-IN) and configure in Settings > Car Settings > Reverse Camera > Aftermarket. Parking guidelines calibration available in Settings > Display > Parking Assist.

Climate control functionality depends on vehicle configuration. Vehicles with factory touchscreen climate controls: Navigate to Settings > Car Settings > AC Display > Enable, then Settings > CANBUS > Ford > Ranger > AC Type > Digital. Physical button models: Set AC Type to Manual. Climate controls remain operational through original buttons. Mixed configurations not supported.

Steering wheel control programming automatic via CANBUS for most functions. Volume up/down, track forward/back, mode, and phone buttons map directly. Voice command button requires Settings > Steering Wheel > Voice Assistant > Select App. Cruise control buttons remain connected to vehicle ECU and are not programmable. Custom button mapping available through Settings > Car Settings > Steering Wheel Study Mode.

Door open/close notifications require disconnection of original factory display and connection of upper display CANBUS cable (4-pin white connector) to supplied harness adapter. Without this connection, door status, fuel level, and temperature displays will not function on new unit. Upper display will show 'No Signal' if CANBUS communication fails.

Screen specifications: 9-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen, 1280×720 resolution, 500 nits brightness, 10-point multi-touch. Actual viewable area 8.4 inches diagonal. Screen ratio 16:9. Automatic brightness sensor requires connection of supplied photoresistor to ILLUM wire (orange/white in factory harness).

Apple CarPlay requires iPhone 5 or later with iOS 7.1 or later. Wired connection via USB-A port (2.0 speed). Wireless CarPlay requires iPhone 6 or later with iOS 9.0 or later, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be enabled. Android Auto requires Android 6.0 or later. Wired connection standard, wireless requires Android 11 or later with 5GHz Wi-Fi support.

Initial configuration requires: Settings > Factory Settings > Password: 1617 > Car Model > Ford > Ranger > Select variant (PX2 2015-2018 or PX3 2018-2022) > CANBUS Protocol > RAISE HS-CAN. Incorrect model selection will cause steering controls, AC display, and door notifications to malfunction.

GPS antenna must be mounted on dashboard with clear view of sky. Magnetic base requires metal surface. For plastic dashboards, use supplied adhesive pad. GPS cable routes behind A-pillar trim to head unit GPS port. Initial satellite acquisition takes 2-5 minutes. Offline maps for Australia included, updates available via Wi-Fi.

Installation time approximately 90-120 minutes for experienced technicians. Required tools: plastic trim removal tools, Phillips screwdriver, 10mm socket, wire crimpers (if extending cables), multimeter for testing. Torque specification for mounting brackets: 8 Nm. Over-tightening may crack mounting tabs.

Power specifications: Operating voltage 11-14.8V DC, standby current <5mA, operating current 2-3A (typical), maximum current 10A with amplifier at full volume. Integrated amplifier 4×45W RMS. Pre-amp outputs 4V RMS. Protect head unit with 10A fuse maximum.

FM frequency range 87.5-108.0 MHz, AM frequency range 522-1620 kHz. DAB+ digital radio requires optional DAB+ antenna and module (sold separately). Radio reception quality depends on factory antenna condition and proper antenna adapter connection.

Bluetooth 5.0 supports simultaneous connection of 2 phones and 3 other devices. Hands-free profile (HFP 1.6), Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP 1.6). Phonebook sync supports up to 2000 contacts. Call history limited to 50 entries.

Microphone installation requires drilling 6mm hole in A-pillar or overhead console. Route microphone cable behind airbag, maintaining 10cm minimum distance from airbag deployment zone. Position microphone 30-50cm from driver's mouth, angled toward driver. Gain adjustment in Settings > Sound > Microphone > Gain (default: 5).

USB ports: Front USB-A 2.0 (5V 2.1A) for CarPlay/Android Auto and media playback. Rear USB-A 2.0 (5V 1A) for charging only. Supports FAT32 and NTFS file systems. Maximum file size 4GB (FAT32) or unlimited (NTFS). Audio formats: MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, APE, WAV. Video formats: MP4, AVI, MKV (H.264/H.265 codec).

Software updates via USB or OTA (over-the-air). OTA requires Wi-Fi connection. Do not power off during update process (15-30 minutes typical). Backup settings before major updates: Settings > System > Backup > Save to USB. Factory reset: Settings > System > Factory Reset (password: 1617).

Known limitations: Original trip computer functions not replicated. Fuel economy display requires manual input. Service reminders must be set manually. SYNC voice commands not supported (replaced by Google Assistant or Siri). Original USB ports in center console become charge-only after installation.

Troubleshooting guide: Black screen - check yellow (constant 12V) and red (ACC) power connections. No sound - verify speaker wire connections and Settings > Sound > Output. Steering controls not working - confirm CANBUS connection and model selection. Reverse camera black - check reverse signal wire (typically green/white) connection to 12V when in reverse.

Environmental specifications: Operating temperature -20°C to +70°C, storage temperature -30°C to +80°C. Humidity 45% to 80% RH non-condensing. Not waterproof - ensure proper dash sealing during installation. Vibration resistance tested to 10-55Hz at 1.5mm amplitude.

Compatible with Ford Ranger PX2 MkII and PX3 MkIII (2015-2022) including all variants: XL, XLT, XLS, Wildtrak, Raptor, and FX4. Supports both Automatic and Manual transmissions. Compatible with 4x2/2WD, 4x4/4WD, Left-hand drive, and Right-hand drive configurations. NOT compatible with PX1 (2012-2015) models due to different wiring harness and dashboard configuration.
